Producer background

La Milagrosa, a specialty coffee farm in Boquete, Panamá, is owned and operated by Tito Vargas. The farm is renowned for its premium Geisha coffee, primarily exported to East Asian markets. This success is the culmination of decades of development, including the creation of custom processing equipment from salvaged materials.

The farm embodies a multigenerational legacy. Tito’s parents, Rosa and Alfredo, both worked on coffee plantations. His father was instrumental in establishing La Milagrosa, planting the initial trees and suggesting the Geisha varietal. This choice proved transformative, elevating the operation from a struggling small farm to a sustainable, high-value coffee business.

Other varietals grown at the farm include Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Mundo Novo, Pacamara, Pachè, and Typica.
