Janson Geisha Washed – Hacienda 134

Janson Coffee frequently features among the best in the ‘Best of Panama’ SCAP competitions. This year, Janson Coffee obtained 3rd place in the Geisha Natural category and 5th place in the Washed category at the BoP 2023.

This family-run farm was established by brothers Carl, Michael, Ricardo, and Peter Janson – sons of Carl Axel Janson who came to Panama from Sweden in 1926.

The Janson’s are firmly committed to the environment. The farm is sustainably run – mountain spring water is used for the washed process; the best pulp of the Geisha is used to produce cascara tea and the rest of the pulp is used for compost to make fertilizer. The dry parchment is used as fuel for the dryers, and the rest of the energy is generated by 400 solar panels.
